This is an outdoor show taking place at Meridian Showground in Cleethorpes
The Charlatans,Ash, Maximo Park, Corella, Coach Party, EVER and Last of the Wonder Kids are the acts so far confirmed to appear at the festival which will take place on Saturday, 5 July 2025 at Meridian Showground, Cleethorpes.
Since breaking through in 1990 The Charlatans have become one of the UK’s most beloved and enduring bands, their indie roots the focal point of a sound that has taken in everything from psychedelia to soul and funk via country rock. The band has had three UK #1 albums (‘Some Friendly’, ‘The Charlatans’, ‘Tellin’ Stories’) and another seven Top 10 records. Their iconic hits include ‘The Only One I Know’, ‘One To Another’, ‘North Country Boy’ and ‘How High’ and many others.
Their journey hasn’t been without immense challenges, notably the tragic losses of keyboardist Rob Collins in 1996 and drummer Jon Brookes in 2013. Yet the band - Tim Burgess (vocals), Martin Blunt (bass), Mark Collins (guitar) and Tony Rogers (keys) - have continued their storied legacy.
Ash - known for singles ‘Girl From Mars’, ‘Shining Light’ and ‘Burn Baby Burn’ - and Maximo Park - with hits ‘Apply Some Pressure’ and ‘Books From Boxes’ - have hundreds of millions of streams between them, as well as huge festival appearances all over the world. Ash, who will tour with The Darkness next Spring, have previously headlined Glastonbury and have also toured with bands such as Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer.
Maximo Park have just completed a European tour which included shows in Germany, France and Denmark. In October they completed a full UK tour.
Manchester’s Corella have previously headlined Docks Academy in Grimsby. Lead singer/guitarist Joel Smith hails from Immingham and attended Franklin College. He then moved to university in Manchester and formed Corella, Their music blends gorgeously tropical indie-pop tones with emotive lyricism, alongside a stunning live performance that compliments the band’s energised delivery beyond what one might consider possible given their young years. These sentiments have earned them an ever-growing rapturous and loyal fanbase, resulting in numerous sold-out headline tours of the UK, and captivating appearances at the likes of Reading & Leeds, Latitude, Kendal Calling and Neighbourhood Festivals.
Coach Party grew up on the Isle of Wight. Musically, Coach Party are inspired by a broad palate of artists, but always find themselves drawn back to Nirvana, Sonic Youth and The Strokes, and contemporary artists like Wolf Alice, The Big Moon and Tame Impala.
EVER are a high energy alt-rock band from Cleethorpes. Since bursting onto the music scene in 2023, they have racked up millions of views and gained a strong fanbase, both online and at live shows. Their debut single ‘Don’t Know How to Love’ earned them a spot on the EA Sports NHL25 soundtrack, and caught the attention of people world wide, including Grammy award winning record producer Rob Cavallo. The band signed to Cavallo’s management company ‘Done Deal’ in the Summer, and will be heading to LA soon to record their debut album. Musical influences include Green Day, Nirvana, Foo Fighters and Radiohead.
First on the DocksFest main stage will be Grimsby’s Last of the Wonder Kids, who have mastered the art of mixing fuzzy melodies, garage psych riffs and infectious hooks to paint an often chaotic picture of life and love in their small Northern town. Having toured extensively since their formation and with several major festivals under their belt, the four piece have been celebrated by the likes of BBC 6 Music Recommends and BBC Introducing across the UK for their songwriting and high energy live shows.
The 2025 event will again be hosted by Grimsby comedian, actor and presenter Lloyd Griffith. Staged by Dirty Docks Ltd, in collaboration with Grimsby brewery Docks Beers and venue Docks Academy, the festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of music, street food and great beer and should be an unforgettable experience for festival-goers.
