This prestigious award celebrates the best UK music venues with a capacity of 1,000 or less – and we’re proud to represent Grimsby!

Thank you to everyone who’s supported us – this recognition is a huge win for our local music community!

We’ll find out if we’ve won at the awards ceremony in London this December. Fingers crossed!

Last Friday, we welcomed Comedian and Grimsby legend Lloyd Griffith for the 1st of his six nights at Docks Academy, as part of his ‘Baroque & Roll’ Tour, along with support from Alun Cochrane!

Fresh from supporting Jack Whitehall on his 2023 UK arena tour, comedian Lloyd Griffith is back with a brand new show ‘Baroque and Roll’. It’s a big year for Lloyd, he’s turning 40 and with it, the impending midlife crisis – or ‘renaissance’ as he’s insisting it’s called; complete with body hair removal, head hair additions, teeth whitening and obviously the obligatory half marathon sign up. It’ll be funny and yes, there’ll be the odd song or two from that magnificent voice of his.

After last year’s sell-out show, SouLutions return to Grimsby on Saturday 23rd November, joined by modern soul DJs Chris Box, John Regan, and Gaz Sewell, who will be spinning his funky Flam night club set.

SouLutions, with four No.1 UK Soul Chart albums, have cemented their status as stars of the UK Modern Soul Scene. Their performances at top events like The Big South West Soul Weekender, Kenny Thomas’ tour, and headlining Boutique Soul 2023 have gained them international acclaim.

Chris Box, a seasoned DJ, has played at major UK and international soul events, with regular shows on Starpoint Radio. Joining him are John Regan and Grimsby’s own Gaz Sewell.

The final Red Herring Comedy show of 2024 at Docks Academy is fast approaching! Join us on Friday 22nd November as 4 comedians take to the stage!

Duncan Oakley is a comedian, songwriter, musician, and actor known for blending musical comedy with stand-up. With impressive guitar skills, he performs using his trusted instruments. A musician since six and a comedian since 1999, he’s appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe, BBC Radio 4, and in films.

James Ellis, winner of South Coast Comedian of the Year 2021, delivers sharp observational humour with clever punchlines. He’s supported Angela Barnes on tour and is a “talented comedy craftsman” (Chortle).

Mike Newall brings dry, razor-sharp observational humour, wowing judges on Britain’s Got Talent. Simon Cowell called his act ‘like an Oasis concert with jokes.’

Echobelly is taking over Docks Academy on Tuesday 26th November!

Having a career spanning nearly 30 years and having released seven albums, the band have just recorded their latest studio album with producer Danton Supple (Who has worked with such musical icons as Coldplay, Morrissey, Dave Gahan and Patti Smith to name a few).

Echobelly kicked off their career in 1993 with their first EP Bellyache. The favourable response including gushing press reviews and sold-out gigs ensured the securing of a recording contract with Sony via their subsidiary, Rhythm King. Their first single from their debut album E.G.O, was Insomniac and the album reached number 8 in the UK Album charts.
