Beerlesque returns to Docks Academy on Saturday 6th June for another evening of glamour, comedy and world-class burlesque. Expect rhinestones, feathers, tassel twirling and larger-than-life performances from some of the UK’s best modern burlesque artists, all brought together in one dazzling seated show.
This year’s lineup includes the charismatic Kiki DeVille, the striking Freida Nipples, Guinness World Record-holding hula-hooper Amazí, tropical powerhouse Donna Poderosa and burlesque veteran Scarlett Daggers. If you’re after something completely different for a Saturday night out, this is one you won’t want to miss.
On Friday 12th June, we’re kicking off the summer football atmosphere with a free Canadian-themed party at Docks Academy, complete with Canada v Bosnia live on the big screen.
Expect wall-to-wall Canadian anthems throughout the night, from Avril Lavigne and Sum 41 to Drake, Shania Twain, Bryan Adams and more. Whether you’re coming for the football, the music or just an excuse to sing along with a drink in hand, this is set to be a fun one. Free tickets are required, so make sure to book ahead.
Red Herring Comedy Club is back at Docks Academy on Saturday 13th June with another stacked lineup of circuit favourites and rising comedy names.
This month’s show features the brilliantly chaotic musical comedy of Duncan Oakley, the razor-sharp wit of Marcel Lucont, Britain’s Got Talent finalist Alex Mitchell and viral stand-up favourite Josh Baulf. Expect a mix of quick-fire stand-up, crowd work, storytelling and plenty of big laughs throughout the night.
Throughout June, we’ll also be showing key tournament matches live on the big screen at Docks Academy, complete with DJs, football anthems, themed drinks and matchday atmosphere.
Alongside the O Canada party on Friday 12th June, we’ll be screening England v Croatia on Wednesday 17th June, England v Ghana on Tuesday 23rd June and England v Panama on Saturday 27th June, with Portugal fixtures shown earlier in the evenings too.
All events are free to attend, but spaces are limited, so booking ahead through the Docks Academy website is recommended.
Fans of Richard Ashcroft, The Verve and Gerry Cinnamon are in for a big night at Docks Academy on Friday 19th June as two tribute acts bring some of modern British indie’s biggest songs to the stage.
The Richard Ashcroft Experience and Belter – Tribute to Gerry Cinnamon will deliver huge singalong moments throughout the night, from “Bittersweet Symphony” and “The Drugs Don’t Work” to “Belter” and “Sometimes”. A proper night for indie fans who like their choruses loud.
Docks Day Sessions returns on Saturday 20th June with Boyband Legends, a daytime party dedicated to the biggest pop hits of the 90s and 00s.
Expect live performances packed with songs from Boyzone, Backstreet Boys, Westlife, Blue, Five and more, alongside throwback DJ sets from Steve Rusling between performances. It’s an afternoon built for dancing, singing along and reliving the golden era of boybands — all wrapped up in time to still make it home at a reasonable hour.
