lowercase theatre Docks Academy

lowercase theater: is it dead out? | 11.10.24

An immersive theatre experience and a playground of Grimsby & Cleethorpes nightlife, is it dead out? pre-drinks is the prequel event to lowercase theatre’s debut show is it dead out?, taking place on Friday 11th October!

is it dead out? pre-drinks will introduce you to Tara and Will and the all too familiar world around them. You’ll get pulled into pre-drinks, hop on the last train to Clee, and head on a night out all without leaving Docks Academy.

There will be theatre and music, and it’ll be interactive but not in a scary way. You’ll be able to explore the space; go on side quests, chat to characters, play games, dance, sing, have a drink. Or not. You could sit and watch and say nothing. As much or as little as you’re comfortable with.

Due to the themes of our show, audience must be 16+. Alcohol will be served in the venue. There will be music, and at times the space will be dimly lit. Seating will be available throughout the night – however, not everybody will be seated. You’ll be invited to explore the venue, and move around the space. It might feel a bit more like a gig!

our next red herring comedy night!

Grimsby’s best monthly comedy night will bring 4 comedians to Docks Academy, to deliver finely crafted jokes and a night of laughs on Saturday 12th October!

Angelos Epithemiou is proper gagsmith. No fat on his routines. Great writer, cool delivery! “the man is definitely a pro, with plenty of lines that our top stand ups would be proud of… the man clearly has a career in comedy cut out for him.” – (Chortle)

Hailing from Newcastle, Louise Young has quickly become one of the brightest new names on the comedy circuit. She is a regular at clubs up and down the country including the Glee Clubs, Komedia, and The Stand. Louise has supported the likes of Jason Manford and Alan Carr on their nation wide UK and Ireland tours.

Award-winning musical comedian Kate Lucas is known for her razor-sharp and deliciously dark songs. She combines catchy melodies with original lyrics to showcase her playfully bitter musings on life. Audiences have come to expect examples of what not to say and how not to behave from this gloriously talented young comic.

MC for the evening, Tom Toal, is a comedian, writer and actor, hailing from the South East London town of Bexleyheath.
