The Red Herring Comedy Club is returning to Docks Academy on Saturday 13th November Doors for the gig open at 7pm for an 8pm start.

Headlining the gig is Rosie Jones who has quickly become a must-see act on the UK comedy circuit. The ex-television researcher was awarded second place in the Leicester Mercury’s New Comedian Of The Year Award 2018 and has gone on to star on Live At The Apollo, The Jonathan Ross Show, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, The Last Leg, Rosie Jones Tries To Help, Live From The Comedy Store, Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back, Comedy Central UK’s Roast Battle, Mock The Week and Hypothetical.

Second on the bill is Matt Bragg, known for his unique, low energy, deadpan style and meticulously crafted material which has earned him critical acclaim from audiences, promoters and comedians alike. As well as performing at some of the largest clubs in the UK, supporting Harry Hill, Lloyd Griffith (Soccer AM) and Phoenix Night’s Clinton Baptiste on tour, he was also selected for Just The Tonic’s Big Value showcase at Edinburgh Festival in 2019. Recently he was runner-up in the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2020 and has been a finalist and winner respectively in Manford New Act of the Year and Bury Met New Act of the Year.

Award-winning stand-up comedian and writer Sarah Keyworth will open the show. She has performed stand-up on The Now Show (BBC Radio 4) and has featured on the BBC, Comedy Central and has supported incredible acts on tour such as Stewart Francis, Dane Baptiste, Kerry Godliman, Jan Ravens and Abandoman.

The magnificent Danny McLoughlin will be our MC for the night. Danny is undoubtedly one of the best MC’s on the circuit, having been recognised as ‘Best MC’ in the ‘Comedians Comedian’ awards with a wit and speed of thought as sharp as they come. “His innate comic timing, insightful digressions and ability to think on his feet puts him alongside the most talented and genuinely funny comedians” - Three Weeks

Tickets are now on sale priced at £13.50 (when purchased in advance) or £15 on the door.

All of our ticket sales are handled by Seetickets.com. Seetickets’ policy is that all tickets are non refundable unless, during the checkout process, you pay extra to protect your tickets. In this event you will be able to claim a refund from Seetickets. Docks Academy is unable process refunds in all circumstances. Please note these events are for people aged 18 and over. Anyone aged under 18 will be refused admission and no refunds will be issued for tickets purchased for under 18s, whether or not ticket protection has been paid for. We are sorry to report that, due to Covid19's significant impact on our business, we are still not yet wheelchair accessible. Currently, the only way of entering the Docks Academy is via a flight of stairs. However, our mid term plans include a wheelchair accessible lift coming up to a new external balcony which will have level access to the venue, funding allowing. Please rest assured wheelchair access remains our highest priority and as soon as we have reopened with our non socially distanced programme we will look at this in earnest.
