Cult folk legend Beans on Toast is coming to Grimsby on Thursday 5th May. The festival veteran writes simple songs about complicated subjects and he’ll be doing what he does best during his performance at the Church – singing songs, telling stories and putting the world to rights with an audience full of like-minded individuals.
Beans will be drawing from his huge and much-loved back catalogue, but for those uninitiated, his shows are both inspiring and entertaining, and will leave you feeling relaxed and ready to go back out into the world and spread the love. BBC Radio 6 Music presenter Steve Lamacq describes his work as “an injection of hope and community” – and that’s certainly something the world needs more of! Joining Beans on Toast on the bill will be local singer-songwriter Hattie Cattell. There are still tickets available for this gig, priced at £15 each plus booking fee. 14+ and standing.
Grimsby’s most popular monthly stand-up comedy club is back with four new comedians. Headlining the show will be Eddy Brimson, an award-winning comedian who is one of the country’s most sought after headline acts. Eddy has numerous TV and Radio credits to his name, including appearances on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Scotland’s Comedy Underground. Despite being English, Eddy was nominated for ‘Best Headliner’ by The Scottish Comedy Awards panel in 2018 and for Best Event at the Edinburgh Festival in 2019.
Kieran Ahern and Tom Dowling, aka Good Kids, are a double act that have been taking the UK comedy scene by storm for the last few years. They met in the playground at the age of 4. They’re daft, weird and lairy and their alternative japes will have you howling! Romanian Radu Isac started doing stand-up a decade ago and decided to do his routines in English so his material could be understood by the Los Angeles open mic audiences. In 2015 he moved to London and after some appearances on the BBC, he became a professional comedian on the UK circuit. MC-ing the night is Tom Toal, a comedian, writer and actor from South East London. Toal has been a regular performer at the Edinburgh fringe and in March 2017, he also opened gigs for Rob Brydon.
Tickets are now on sale priced at £14.50 plus booking fee. 18+ and seated.

Oh My God It’s The Church consists of the Hail Marys choir, their band The Missionary Position and the lead singer the Right Reverend Michael Alabama Jackson. There are only a limited number of tickets available for the show, priced at £13 each plus booking fee. 18s + and standing.
