Errol Linton + Support From Dan Franklin

This event is for 18 and over - No refunds will be issued for under 18s.

Doors open 6pm
Start 7pm

Renowned British blues musician Errol Linton and his full live band will be performing at Docks Academy on Thursday 24th June 2021.

The South Londoner has been playing his reggae-inflected electric blues for nearly thirty years after being spotted by John Walters (John Peel’s celebrated producer) busking in Oxford Circus tube station. In 1990 his unique take on the genre gained recognition after featuring in the BBC documentary ‘Blues South of the River’ but no record label dared to take a chance on the young Londoner who sounded like no one else!

Over the years Linton has become one of the country’s best homegrown blue musicians, with his unique sound and songs which personify the black British experience - both wry and lyrical, sad and angry. Joining Linton on the bill is local Lincolnshire artist and musician Dan Franklin playing an eclectic mix of solo material on guitar and vocals. The show promises to be a great night of blues music at the Church.

Following Boris Johnson’s announcement on Monday 17th June 2021 and the delay in lifting all restrictions until at least 19th July 2021, this event will now be a seated event. It will continued to be organised with all Docks Academy’s COVID-secure protocols in place. These include mandatory check-in on arrival, a contactless experience, restricted group sizes of no more than 6 and table service.

We will seat people in groups according to the number of tickets booked - max group size is 6.

Tickets are now on sale priced at £17.50 each (plus booking fee).

Accessibility:

We are sorry to report that, due to Covid19's significant impact on our business, we are still not yet wheelchair accessible. Currently, the only way of entering the Docks Academy is via a flight of stairs. However, our mid term plans include a wheelchair accessible lift coming up to a new external balcony which will have level access to the venue, funding allowing. Please rest assured wheelchair access remains our highest priority and as soon as we have reopened with our non socially distanced programme we will look at this in earnest. We are grateful for your forbearance.
