We’re thrilled to bring you the second Fresh Catch taking place on Friday 9th June, which is hot off the heels of the first one headlined by Mint, with support from The Colliers and The Blighters. The next Fresh Catch will see three great bands from the Humber region: Reardon Love, Healer and Brosnan, take to the stage.

Fresh Catch is all about giving people the opportunity to hear new artists when they’re starting out, or to catch a band from another part of the country that is on the up. It’s an awesome feeling to stand back knowing you’ve been there from their first shows and witnessed their growth into a recognised talent in the music industry.

Born in the autumn of 2018, Reardon Love took centre stage with one sole aim. Champion the underdog, hail the outsider and liberate the falsely accused.

Armed with a message so staunch you are at one with their disdain for prejudice, these social justice warriors are already informing those that want to hear... and those that don’t! Whatever the destination, be it global domination or social suicide, it promises to be one hell of a journey.

Their previous appearance at the Church, as support for the iconic Toploader, saw the band win over the audience with their slick and refined set, which paved the way for their return to Grimsby. If you were there on that night, you'll know how good they were. Not to be missed!

HEALER is a five-piece melodic indie rock band from Grimsby & Cleethorpes with a mission. That mission is ‘to create music that inspires and empowers listeners to be their best selves, whether this is musically or in everyday life’.

Their debut release ‘Hurricane’, is a powerful indie anthem about overcoming relational difficulties and finding strength within oneself. Mix the band’s dynamic playing style with uplifting lyrics and you’ve got a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience that is reminiscent of The Police and Joy Division.

The release has garnered high praise and a buzz in the local scene and has helped to get the band booked on different stages over the next few months as they continue to work on new music. HEALER have swiftly established themselves as a band to look out for in 2023 with more releases and live dates over the year and Docks Academy is thrilled to have them on the stage.

Brosnan are an indie three-piece from Hull. Influenced by the likes of Pulp and New Order, their fusion of British indie and new wave informs their second-hand pop sound. Over the past five years, the band have been gigging around the country, with notable slots supporting Idles, Gengahr & Larkins.
