Supporting the next generation of musical talent, Docks Academy will for a second-year showcase music students from the Grimsby Institute for Higher Education for an event which gives a platform to the students and allows them to perform in an established venue.

At this free, open to all event, the students will perform in front of a crowd and gain essential stage experience. The evening will feature seven acts of various styles and genres, and music will range from covers of popular rock and indie tracks, rapping, and the students’ original music.

Londski/Bratty Boi - a rap duo based in Grimsby, bringing original bars, witty wordplay, and high energy. Heavily influenced by Potter Payper, Fredo & Eminem, this dynamic duo is one to look out for!

Your Oxytocin are an alternative/indie band based in and around Grimsby. We are heavily influenced by bands such as Maroon 5 and smaller artists such as Phoebe Bridgers. With our range of multi-instrumentalists, we aim to give the best performance at every gig.

MIxd is an England-based artist originally from Sofia, Bulgaria. He is a rapper who describes himself as a modern lyricist. His wide array of beat selections includes anything from old school east coast boom bap to Atlanta trap. His music has a heavy influence of a lot of east coast artists like JID, J. Cole, A$ap rocky and others. He brings very high-octane energy on stage a lot of his live performances mostly focusing on creating a vibe more so than showcasing his songs/rapping ability.

The Vibe are a four-piece Indie/Pop band based in Lincolnshire, UK, heavily inspired by a range of musical influences across the decades and genres. All members are currently studying towards their level 3 in Creative Music at The Grimsby Institute, and alongside performing, write original music both as solo and ensemble collaborations, ‘Earthtones’ and ‘The Abstract Noise’. Combining the sounds of Eloise’s classically trained vocals with multi-instrumentalists Alfie, Lennon and Josiah, this group creates a distinct and memorable sound that is guaranteed to leave the listener wanting more.

FOK are a Punk band from Grimsby, UK with influences ranging from Weezer and Queen to Stone Sour and Korn. We play fast-paced, melodic metal/punk with a comedic overtone that heavily focuses on our personal inadequacies and making fun of the genres we play. Our members include drummer Cole, bassist Jayden, guitarists Dylan and Byron and vocalist Jake McCabe, with musical experiences ranging from casual bedroom playing to national touring.

L3Y2 are a group of multi-instrumentals in the final leg of their music studies at the Grimsby Institute. Their final performance project sees them taking us on a musical journey through the 1990s, covering iconic 90s bands such as Blur, Manic Street Preachers, Eternal, Oasis, Nirvana and many more.
