Docks Academy welcomes a double bill of world-leading tribute bands who masterfully reimagine ‘Siouxsie and the Banshees’ and ‘The Cure’.
Lizzie & The Banshees are without doubt, the most authentic Siouxsie tribute, recreating those early days from the 100 Club through to the mid 80s. The Banshees were definitely unique with real punk classics like ‘Love In A Void’ showing their origins then they developed a sound of their own with the likes of ‘Happy House’ and ‘Christine’. Releasing an album every year from 1978 to 1984, you will hear tracks from ‘The Scream’, ‘Join Hands’, ‘Kaleidoscope’, ‘Juju’, ‘A Kiss In The Dreamhouse’, ‘Nocturne’ and ‘Hyaena’ performed with great musicianship and accuracy like you won’t anywhere else. Check them out on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/LizzieAndTheBanshees/
I Found The Cure is a “The Cure” tribute band from Doetinchem, the Netherlands. With the right New Wave sounds and looks, packed in an energetic live performance, they bring the ultimate “The Cure experience” to you. After playing shows in venues like Melkweg Amsterdam and Biesenrock Festival Belgium, the band got labelled as the "number one tribute band from the Netherlands" in Dutch newspaper ‘De Volkskrant’. They are young and full of enthusiasm, just like Smith & co were back in the 70s. See them perform a selection of tracks from The Cure’s brilliant back catalogue from 1978 onwards. However, our mid term plans include a wheelchair accessible lift coming up to a new external balcony which will have level access to the venue, funding allowing.
