Headlining the night will be Duncan Oakley, a comedian, songwriter, musician and actor all rolled into one! With musical skills that would easily fit into many rock bands, Duncan performs an infectious mix of musical comedy and stand up brilliantly. He has an eye and ear for the silly, rude, playful and downright irritating occurrences of life, Duncan musters up songs that not only make you laugh, they bury into the recesses of your mind and find you humming a tune with a smile on your face three days later!

David Eagle is one of the fastest rising acts on the comedy circuit. With David being blind, his comedy often explores how his disability means the most ordinary, commonplace events are turned into surreal and convoluted dramas. Occasionally he dons his accordion (often as a spiteful repost to hecklers) and performs one of his comedy songs, such as his George Formby parody, described by the Guardian as "a comic tour de force."

As well as being a stand-up comic, David is a member of BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winning band The Young'uns. After conquering the folk music world, enjoying all of the trappings that come with it - the money, the glamour, the women - David branched out into stand up. He was crowned New Comedian Of The Year by Leicester Square Theatre in 2019. The same year he also won new act competitions at Bath Comedy Festival and Nottingham Comedy Festival and was nominated Best Newcomer at the Chortle Awards.

"If not for the virus, David Eagle would be closing nights, constantly. A genuine stand up rookie phenomenon! Looking forward to hearing more." - Reginald D Hunter

Josh Pugh is a comedian, writer and winner of English Comedian of the Year and the Birmingham Breaking Talent Award. This year he wrote for Dave Channel's new show 'The Island' and 'The Emily Atack Show' for ITV. He performs stand up across the country and has toured in the UK and Australia. He also runs cult account @GrassrootsCoach on twitter and recently published a spin off book 'Grassroots: A Step Dad's Quest For Silverware' - available on Amazon. Impressively, Josh has played for England's Partially Sighted team for the past 10 years and played in 3 World Championships!

'An almost certain future star... this is a classy hour of charming left field comedy' - Chortle

MC-ing the show will be Pete Otway, a former BBC New Comedy Award Finalist and a Docks Academy favourite having brought the house down in 2020. His self-deprecation and hilarious stories of life and love take audiences on a jaw aching adventure.

Tickets are now on sale priced at £14.50 (when purchased in advance) or £16 on the door.

Accessibility:

We are sorry to report that, due to Covid19's significant impact on our business, we are still not yet wheelchair accessible. Currently, the only way of entering the Docks Academy is via a flight of stairs. We aim to have a lift installed by the end of 2022. Rest assured wheelchair access remains our highest priority.
