Liverpool band Red Rum Club will headline the Docks Academy as part of their UK tour on Wednesday 26th January 2022, thanks to Music Venue Trust and The National Lottery, and tickets are buy-one-get-one free thanks to Music Venue Trust and The National Lottery.

Red Rum Club is made up of vocalist Fran Doran, Tom Williams on lead guitar, Michael McDermott on rhythm guitar, Simon Hepworth on bass, Neil Lawson on drums and their famed trumpet player, Joe Corby. The Liverpudlian group is hailed as one of the city's most exciting new bands and we’re looking forward to seeing them play in Grimsby!

Describing themselves as an ‘alternative’ rock band, Red Rum Club deliver something more than those usually defined by that genre. With the magnificent trumpet of Joe Corby added to a more traditional band line-up, the Red Rum Club dynamic is hoisted to a whole new level. This is yet another great act out of the creative hotbed that is Liverpool and the local influences are clear to hear: The La’s, The Coral, Echo and the Bunnymen, combined with some lovely retro guitar twangs complete their individual sound.

This January, Music Venue Trust is continuing its The National Lottery association to help #ReviveLive music in grassroots music venues across the UK with The National Lottery Revive Live Tour. This gig is one of hundreds of live music shows which will be funded by The National Lottery, to help kickstart quality live music and put artists back into venues where they belong. Accessibility

We are sorry to report that, due to Covid19's significant impact on our business, we are still not yet wheelchair accessible. Currently, the only way of entering the Docks Academy is via a flight of stairs. However, our mid term plans include a wheelchair accessible lift coming up to a new external balcony which will have level access to the venue, funding allowing. Please rest assured wheelchair access remains our highest priority and as soon as we have reopened with our non socially distanced programme we will look at this in earnest.
