Known for their raw, poetic lyrics and electrifying live performances that show a wide range of influences, from Gang of Four to LCD Soundsystem via Pulp and the Libertines, the band has become a cult favourite with their ‘Council pop’ sound, blending post-punk energy with heartfelt Northern soul.

With three studio albums released between 2008-2015, several festival appearances including Glastonbury festival, Y-NOT, and DocksFest, and support from BBC6Music, XFm and the NME, amongst others, Orphan Boy remain one of Grimsby’s greatest bands.
