Following on from Fresh Catch 3, which featured The Loving Memory, DB Jones, Archie and the Astronauts, and Lonerz, we have announced Fresh Catch 4. Taking place on Friday 2nd February 2024, Fresh Catch 4 will see Intercity, Riverwolf, and M-Fatic take to the Docks Academy stage, and will kickstart our 2024 grassroots music programme.

Intercity is an electronic rock band from Lincolnshire, UK. Their mix of rock music and Drum N’ Bass has made them one of the most interesting and unique live bands on the scene. This Electronic Rock band from Grimsby have previously headlined their own sold-out shows, as well as headline slots at festivals in the county and their own BBC Introducing live session.

The band is comprised of Connor Gregory heading up lead vocals, Lewis Hay on keys and guitar, Jack Norman on lead guitar and Jon Foulds on Drums. The band started writing material back in January 2017, throwing demos back and forth cross country as Jack and Connor originally resided in Liverpool.

When the two moved back to Lincolnshire, ‘Alive’ was born and drummer, Jon, completed the line-up in the Summer of 2017. Following the success of Alive, the band went on to perform a huge hometown show, festival dates and a number of support slot performances to promote ‘Alpha‘, their debut EP.

Alpha was then followed up by ‘House of Cards’ in late 2018 and has since become a fan-favourite at their live shows for its mix of electronic production and rock elements. The band would receive airplay from BBC Introducing, and further support in the form of a live session in April of 2019.

In mid-2019, the band released one of their most successful songs to date, ‘Carpathia’, and headlined at the opening night for Cleethorpes venue, The Depot, to a crowd of over 300 people.

Following a hiatus during Covid, in mid-2023, Intercity announced their return as a band with a sold-out show at Spiders Web in Grimsby, as well as recently releasing their first single in over four years, ‘antidote.’, which has received regular radio play nationwide through various regional stations, as well as features on multiple editorial playlists on Spotify.

Fresh Catch is Docks Academy’s grassroots music night that gives a highlight to local musicians, and features artists from not only Grimsby and Cleethorpes, but also Lincolnshire, and beyond. This night is all about giving people the opportunity to hear new artists when they’re starting out or to catch a band from another part of the country that is on the up. It’s an awesome feeling to stand back knowing you’ve been there from their first shows and witnessed their growth into a recognised talent in the music industry.
